Castaways in Oceania

OCEANIA

DEVIL'S ISLAND

This volcanic island is only apt for lovers of extreme challenges who will be totally on their own. Our mythic castaway Ian Argus Stuart christened the island with this name after seeing the amount of difficulties he was faced with before being able to reach the top of the crater. Ian had to abandon his plan and we are still waiting for the hero who will, one day, crown the summit.

It is important to point out that there is no beach on this island so the docastawayer will have to make do with a dip in the natural pools formed in the rocks, or wait for calm days and then jump into the sea, but always following extreme security measures.

We must reiterate the fact that this island is only suitable for those who love to experience difficulties and those who don’t mind being totally abandoned during long periods of time. This island is an ideal destination for those who want to become an authentic castaway, completely alone and without guides. This is probably the most extreme experience that Docastaway has to offer.

ACCOMODATION
Extreme survival. The castaways will have to build their own refuge with what they find on the island though there is the possibility of having a slightly more comfortable experience by having a tent, camping gas, etc.

ISOLATION LEVEL
Devil’s Island is one of the most remote of Docastaway islands. It is located in the middle of the ocean, dozens of miles from the nearest coast. The chances of seeing boats in the area are very remote. This desert island is ideal for those who wish for an extreme isolation experience and who want to feel a castaway in the most perfect sense of the word
The feeling of isolation at this remote island of Oceania is generally EXTREME

MEALS
On Devil’s Island the castaway will eat and drink what nature provides. A variety of hermit crabs and fish which get trapped in the natural pools can be found. There is a limited amount of water on the island, though enough to survive. However, the docastawayer can always take provisions to the island and simple enjoy holidays in paradise.

ACTIVITIES
In addition to the chance of evasion offered by this destination, the docastawayer could set himself the goal of climbing to the top of the volcano – although we are waiting for the castaway who is capable of crowing the summit, taking into account the great deal of difficulties this act presents. The castaway will have to survive on what can be found on the island. Fishing, snorkeling – always and only when the sea is calm and only in certain areas protected from the currents. This island is the ideal place to be completely alone and without guides.

No castaway has yet succeeded in crowing the summit of the volcano

Some islands have reefs full of life

Should there be a storm the castaway will have to wait up to two weeks to be rescued. Therefore, much patience will be necessary and also flexible dates

There is no beach on the island so it is only ideal for those who are looking for a different kind of survival experience

There are certain difficulties for landing on this island

The cost of this experience is high as larger technologically advanced boats are needed and a larger work team
